I sailed x many days last year...

Sorry folks, I stopped counting some time in August around 120 sessions I think. Maybe I got close to 140 in the bay. Then like 20 days in Maui. Then 15 days in Chile maybe. Who knows. It was for sure more than I've ever sailed. I learned some new tricks, too, which is pretty much my thing if I had to choose a windsurfing "thing". I'll probably look at the calendar more closely when I get home.

One of the cool things is that happened this year is that I got my girlfriend to start windsurfing. She had a couple lessons with Big Winds then Brendon from ABK took her under his wing a bit as well. I always think your loved one needs to windsurf because it's something (s)he wants to do, not because s(he) feels like it's something you want h(im)er to do. I'm not sure where we stand on this issue, but she has been bugging me about getting out on the water when the seasons starts in the bay area again. I guess that's a good sign.

I'm pretty sure she's my only regular blog reader, so the least I could do is put her picture up!

Great that your girlfriend started windsurfing! Take her to some ABK camps in Bonaire, and she'll be better than you in no time. Well, at least that's what happened with my wife. It's twice the fun now! And you're definitely wrong about her being your only regular reader :)

Nice!....and good idea having others teach her. Sounds like you're really enjoying Chile...hopefully you have more to post from there?

Even though I'm sometimes a bit sick in the stomach when I read how much you sail, I still read regularly!

More importantly, way to go Joyce!

I agree with the others but would like to hear what tricks you've learned lately (after the flaka)?

Well, I don't think there's been any wind on the coast in Chile since Christmas, and if there was I haven't had the opportunity to sail. I still have a lot of updating to do to the blog of past sessions though...

Maverick: After the flaka, I squeaked out some grubbies and I think I actually (finally ) landed some shove-its. Not ready to claim it though since none of my friends witnessed it...

Next yr we will do some real work with Joyce! I think I will also have some others that will join her and make it a bit more fun, start getting her a crew of her own! I like that you finally lost count....i lose count after a week or two every time I try!
See you and Joyce next yr!
